it is You who call us by name
and ask us to follow You.
Help us to grow in the Love
and Service of our Church
as we experience it today.
Give us the energy and courage
of Your Spirit
to shape its future
Grant us faith-filled leaders
who will embrace Christ’s Mission
of love and justice.
Bless the Church of Wilmington
by raising up dedicated and generous leaders
from our families and friends
who will serve Your people as,
Priests, Brothers, Sisters, Deacons and Lay Ministers.
Inspire us to know You better
and open our hearts
to hear Your call.
We ask this through our Lord.
Prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood
Heavenly Father, in every age, You call men
to serve at Your altar as Your priests
and servants of Your people to witness to the Gospel
and to be like Your Son, the Great High Priest.
Through the intercession of St. Francis de Sales,
Patron Saint of the Diocese of Wilmington,
please grant our Diocese many good and holy priests;
Help me to discern what You want for my life,
and always give me the courage to say Yes to You.
May I not lose heart in considering my own weaknesses,
but be willing to answer Your call,
so You might fulfill your designs in me
and I might accomplish Your Holy Will.
