Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Annual Catholic Appeal?
Since 1976, the Annual Catholic Appeal has been a unified effort in which all parishioners are asked to provide critical, financial support to nearly forty diocesan ministries that provide for the spiritual emotional and physical needs of the community. This year, the appeal will be called the Faith and Charity Catholic Appeal. We are all united by our faith and called to charity. Faith and Charity Catholic Appeal funds are the major financial source available to support these vital ministries.

How does my parish benefit from the Faith and Charity Catholic Appeal?
Every Appeal gift goes to support diocesan programs and ministries which in turn provide services to the parishes and in collaboration with our parishes. Additionally, at least 50 percent of contributions received beyond a parish’s assigned target is returned to the parish and used to defray ministry and capital costs. Parishes operating or supporting a school receive 100 percent of over-target contributions.

How do I make a pledge to the Faith and Charity Catholic Appeal?
Parishioners will receive information about the Faith and Charity Catholic Appeal through the mail from Bishop Koenig. The enclosed pledge card and return envelope can be used to make a contribution to the campaign. A contribution can also be made by contacting the diocesan development office at (302) 573-3120 or online by clicking here.
