Delaware Mandatory Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting and Resources
Every person in Delaware is mandated by law to report suspected child abuse and neglect within 24 hours. The person with direct knowledge of the suspected abuse, who witnessed the abuse, or who the child confided in must make the report. No person without direct knowledge can make the report for another person.
All reports are made to the Division of Family Services (DFS) report line at 1-800-292-9582 or online for non-emergency related information. Call 911 if immediate attention is required. A call to 911 does not replace the mandated call to DFS.
