The Diocesan Office for Marriage and Family Life sponsors an annual Mass of remembrance and healing for Pregnancy and Infant Loss called the Footprints Mass. This year’s event will be held on Sunday, October 18th at St. John the Beloved Church (907 Milltown Road, Wilmington DE 19808) at 9:30am.
Most Reverend William E. Koenig, DD, Bishop of Wilmington will be the principal celebrant.
Throughout the United States, October 15th has been designated as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. It is a day when grieving parents come together and are surrounded by family and friends’ loving support to remember their little one. It is a time when our parish communities can pray for the families and the children lost. A special invitation is extended to parents, grandparents and siblings who grieve the death of children because of miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion, or early infant death. These losses may be recent or extend over many years.
