International Students

International students are welcome to attend a Catholic school in the Diocese of Wilmington for a semester, a school year, or multiple school years.  The Catholic Schools Office assists international students in obtaining an F-1 visa.  The F-1 Visa (Academic Student) allows a student to enter the United States as a full-time student at an accredited college, university, seminary, conservatory, academic high school, elementary school, or other academic institution or in a language training program. A school must be enrolled in a program or course of study that culminates in a degree, diploma, or certificate and the school must be authorized by the United States government to accept foreign students.

There are specific steps required to facilitate the application process for Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Students).

  1. Application to the desired school must be completed.
  2. An acceptance letter from the school must be received.
  3. An I-20 application must be submitted by the school to the Catholic Schools Office.
  4. A visa must be obtained by the student.

For more information, please contact either the local school or the Catholic Schools Office (302-573-3133) or cso@cdow.org.
