October is Respect Life Month

Share

In October, the Catholic Church in the United States celebrates Respect Life Month, and the first Sunday of October is designated as Respect Life Sunday. To support these annual observances, the USCCB Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities provides materials to help Catholics understand and value the gift of human life and help build a culture that cherishes and protects it.

The annual Respect Life Month novena will take place Wednesday, October 22 – Thursday, October 30. The novena covers a wide breadth of Respect Life topics, including pregnancy support, the death penalty, persons with disabilities, healing after abortion, and more.

The main USCCB accounts will be posting the novena on social media daily between 5-7 am EDT.

*full novena will be posted on Oct.21. Daily prayers will be posted in “Stories” each day.

This year, the novena will also be available for free on the Hallow app. Each day, a different bishop will be leading the prayer as we unite to prayer for the protection of all human life.
